We quote per vehicle rather than from a fixed list, because two cars of the same model can need very different amounts of work.
Vehicle size. A large SUV or van has considerably more panel area than a supermini, and takes longer at every stage.
Current condition. Paint that has been maintained needs less correction than paint that has had years of automatic car washes. Condition affects the price more than anything else on this list.
Level of contamination. Heavy tar, iron fallout, tree sap or overspray all add decontamination time before correction can begin.
How much correction you want. A single-stage polish that markedly improves the finish costs less than a multi-stage correction chasing a near-flawless result. Both are legitimate choices and we will tell you what each will realistically achieve on your paint.
Protection chosen. A sealant costs less than a ceramic coating and lasts a fraction as long.
Interior requirements. Pet hair, spills, smoke and heavily soiled upholstery add significant time.
Access and working conditions. Most Chester jobs are unaffected. Genuinely difficult access — no water, no power, a very tight space — can add time.

Space. Around a metre of clear room on all sides of the vehicle, with the doors able to open fully. A reasonably level surface.
Time. You do not need to be present throughout, provided we have access to the vehicle and can reach you if needed. We confirm expected duration when we quote.
Parking. Driveways and allocated bays are straightforward. On-street work is possible on many Chester roads where there is room to work safely — Hoole, Boughton and the Garden Quarter usually need parking arranged in advance. Inside the city walls we normally agree a nearby alternative.
Weather. Correction and protection both need conditions we can control to a reasonable degree, so a heavy-rain day may mean rescheduling rather than a compromised result.

Often yes. It depends on the road width and whether parking can be arranged — in permit areas such as Hoole and Boughton that needs sorting in advance. Send us the street name and we will confirm before you book.
Frequently yes, and often more visibly than on a newer one. Older paint tends to carry more oxidation and swirling, so the improvement is more dramatic. The exception is paint that has failed or thinned to the point where correction is not safe, which we check on arrival.
Once paint has been corrected and protected, maintenance is mostly about washing it properly. Most customers return for a full detail occasionally, with valeting in between. Correcting the same paint repeatedly is not necessary and removes clear coat each time.
